A sale the downtown Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club said would be "bigger and better than ever" has been drawing crowds since it began Thursday at the activity center on West Washington and First Sts. The goal for the three-day events ending Saturday is $40,000, but by the end of the day Thursday sales had already reached about $18,000, says Kiwanian Fred Ziesemer. Above, Ziesemer (right) [this photo] helps a customer pick out books. Below left, customer Thyra Throop buys a garment from Ernie Laetz.
