Home for New Hope Baptist Church Dedication services for New Hope Baptist Church's building at 218 Chapin will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Thomas Bloxam of Packard Road Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Albert Lightfoot Jr., pastor of New Hope Baptist, surveys the recently remodeled sanctuary. Lightfoot organized the congregation in 1965. Members have been meeting in the YM-YWCA. Before the congregation could move into the building, the City Council approved a change in zoning from M1 light industrial to R2A two family. The R2A zoning permits church use.
