Main St. is near the top in the photo and Madison St. is at the left. The facilities were at one time owned by the Wholesale Distributors Co., which sold out its business to the Fingerle Lumber Co. at 208 E. Madison St.

GAS MAY BE SHORT, BUT 'ELBOW GREASE' ISN'T: Paul McDowell, 1621 South Blvd., seems to be enjoying the extra service given by two shorts-clad girls at Floyd Cook's service station, S. Main and Madison Sts. Cook (with the gas hose), is celebrating his third anniversary as operator of the station, and that's how the girls, Dorothy Huntwork (left), and Donna Foster, fit into the picture. He hired them as an anniversary stunt. The oil workers' strike hasn't seriously curtailed driving in Ann Arbor yet. (Story on page 13.)
