Army Takes Over Polling Place: The U.S. Army and Air Force officially take over the Sixth Ward polling place on Forest Ave. as their new recruiting station in Ann Arbor. City Clerk Fred J. Looker (in doorway) has presented the keys to the building to Col. R. M. Lawson (right), who has charge of recruiting in Michigan. The recruiters will vacate the polling place on election days by terms of a rent-free agreement with the city. The recruiting station was previously in the Armory.
