THE DEAN PLANTED WELL: Shown above are the nine pines which Dean Emeritus Samuel T. Dana of the University School of Natural Resources planted 20 years ago (1937) to honor the eight University Regents and Regent ex officio Supt. of Public Instruction Eugene B. Elliott, today president of Eastern Michigan College at Ypsilanti. The dean is shown at the lower left of the picture indicating with outstretched hand the height of the saplings he planted two decades ago.
