TWO LEVELS IN ONE-STORY HOUSE: Four risers separate two bedrooms and bath from living room and kitchen levels of Pittsfield Village units. The stairs achieve a sense of privacy for the upper level and allow basement room without deep excavation.

COMMUNITY FEELING AT PITTSFIELD VILLAGE: Pleasant arrangement of housing group on curved streets typifies the new project two miles east of the city on Washtenaw road. Each structure, although following a general pattern, is individualized by exterior color and position on the street. Already mothers wheel children in the bright autumn sun and new-found friends stroll the walks together.

Two Pittsfield Park neighbors, the William G. Moores and Byron D. Abbetts of Yost Blvd., offer a study in living room contrasts. Almost identical in architectural design, the living rooms—as well as the rest of the dwelling—are decorated and furnished in opposing contrasting styles. The Moores' home (top) is furnished in Early American, the Abbetts' dwelling (bottom) is modern throughout. Interior color schemes help to set the two homes far apart in appearance.
