A Brave Volunteer Charles Mitchell is a brave soul. He volunteered for the guinea pig role at a Forsythe Junior High School assembly during which Michael Crain of Tennessee put on a karate demonstration. Charles is being shown how to crack a man's ribs and chest. Crain, a Baptist preacher, gives assemblies nationally. In public schools, the performances are secular with an anti-drug abuse, smoking and drinking theme, but in church schools, they have a spiritual emphasis. He also put on demonstrations in the Ypsilanti Baptist High School where he split a watermelon blindfolded off a man's stomach with a sabre sword, and broke 300 pounds of ice with his bare hands.
