Wall Street Bridge Improved: Improvements to the Wall St. bridge should aid traffic safety and driving ease. The top picture [this photo] is a view facing west from Fuller St. and the bottom a view facing east from Maiden Lane. To improve drivers' view of traffic, high concrete bridge railings were removed and new metal railings installed. Walkways were also constructed on the bridge. Changes on the bridge were part of the general street improvements being made in the area.

A car enters one of three Park Mobile structures erected on part of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital's outpatient and visitor parking lot. The first of the 22-car units went into operation Wednesday. The other two are expected to be in use Monday. The button-activated structures, which revolve in ferris-wheel style, are designed to be operated by drivers. An attendant will aid drivers the first few days. The units are the first erected in the Midwest for public use. St. Joseph parking fees have been raised from 20 to 25 cents an hour, with a maximum of $2.50.

READY TO START: About 40 foreign passenger cars await the start of yesterday's road trial at the Ann Arbor High School parking lot. The road trial, a contest of control driving and map reading, covered some 68 miles and ended with a picnic at Geddes and Dixboro Rds. The rally was promoted by Pete Thomasen and John Winchester.
