Published In:
Ann Arbor News, July 2, 1984
Caption:
Wystan Stevens, left, president of the Washtenaw County Historical Society, examines a hand-operated baling press donated to the society by Kerrytown owner Joe O'Neal. The baler was manufactured by the Economy Baler Company founded in Ann Arbor in 1881 and located at 1254 N. Main St until it ceased business around 1978. The society wants to locate, acquire and preserve objects of local manufacture which illustrate the industrial and social history of the county, Stevens said, in spite of the fact that it has no museum.
