Grizzly Peak Brewing Co. and its five in-house beers are just about ready to pour onto the downtown Ann Arbor entertainment scene. John Carlson, Grizzly Peak's proprietor, says he plans to open the 120 W. Washington St. brewpub and restaurant by the middle of next week, possibly as soon as Monday. Chris Cho is shown here [this photo] pouring beer samples during a pre-opening party Thursday at the brewpub, which occupies part of the former Old German restaurant. Patrons will be able to watch the suds being made because Carlson put the brewhouse, including a large, copper-topped brew kettle, next to the restaurant's glass facade. There's plenty of seating too, with room for some 240 thirsty drinkers at the 6,000-square-foot brewpub. News photos Allen Smith
