May Day Celebration Symbolizing the start of a month-long celebration honoring the Blessed Virgin, women of St. John's Catholic Church in Ypsilanti held a May Day procession this morning from the church to an outdoor shrine where a crown of flowers was placed on a statue of Mary. Catholics counter the Communists' May Day demonstrations with religious observances. Mary Manion of 709 Dwight St., Ypsilanti is placing the crown.
