The books go to the school library. The program was sponsored by St. Mary's Lodge, No. 4, F & AM and Naomi Chapter No. 12, Order of the Eastern Star.

Other recent gifts given to the Board of Education include $40 from Edward H. Bick, 1421 Normandy, for a case for a euphonium, and a gift of a $100 violin from Robert E. Blood, 2005 Penncraft.

HOLLWAY IN SPOTLIGHT: While the Ann Arbor High band played "He's a Jolly Good Fellow," Pioneer Athletic Director Lou Hollway enjoyed another fine moment following ceremonies which officially dedicated the school's new grid layout as Hollway Field. Supt. Jack Elzay, Principal Nicholas Schreiber, School Board President Frederic House, Mayor William E. Brown, jr., Michigan Athletic Director Fritz Crisler and Michigan Football Coach Ben Oosterbaan all offered special congratulations during the half-time interlude of last night's Ann Arbor High-Wayne opener. Hollway was lauded for 34 years of service to the public schools and the community.

BACK WHERE HE STARTED: LeVerne "Kip" Taylor (left), now head football coach at Oregon State College, returned to the scene of his former triumphs yesterday as he visited Louis H. Hollway, physical education director, in his office at the Ann Arbor high school. Hollway is pointing to a basketball picture taken in 1926 three years after Hollway came here to coach. Taylor was a member of that team which holds the all-time Pioneer record of winning 13 games and losing only to Detroit Northwestern in the semi-finals of the state tournament.
