Circle K Tutoring is Back!!!

Looking for help with your homework? Look no further than AADL’s Downtown Library. The University of Michigan Chapter of Circle K is once again providing tutoring for students in grades K-12. This service has already begun this semester, so stop by the Youth Department Story Corner Mondays and Wednesdays between 4 and 8pm!

If you would like homework help over the weekend, U of M’s Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta will again be providing tutoring at the downtown location on Sundays from 3-5pm. This service will begin Sunday January 30th.

AADL also provides access to Brainfuse, an online tutoring service. Live tutors are available from 2-11 pm every day!

With the end of the school year right around the corner, the last tests and papers of the semester loom on the horizon. Get free help with those final projects any day of the week from 2 – 11pm with the online tutoring service, Brainfuse. Brainfuse allows you to chat live with trained instructors for real-time assistance, no appointment is necessary. Every tutor has a specialty area as well as being trained in online teaching techniques to help explain the tough subjects for grades 3 and up. Available in Spanish and English. Tutoring at 826michigan

Did you know that 826michigan offers one-on-one tutoring Monday through Thursday? Session one runs from 3:30-4:30pm, and session two runs from 4:30-5:30pm. Students who have enough homework are welcome to stay for both sessions. Tutors are available at the lab and ready to help students with writing assignments, homework, English language learning, creative writing, and publishing projects. No reservations are required for tutors—students just drop in and one of the trained volunteer tutors will help the student with anything he or she needs! 826michigan is located on Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor.

Beginning this Wednesday, September 10, 2008, the Ann Arbor District Library will be partnering with the University of Michigan’s Circle K chapter to provide free homework help for school-aged children and teenagers. Circle K is an international service organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. College student volunteers will be available on Wednesdays, 4:00-8:00 PM, in the Downtown Youth Story Corner for drop-in homework help.

Additionally, AADL offers homework help through Brainfuse, an online resource that provides free, one-on-one homework help and skills building. This service is available between the hours of 2:00PM and 11:00PM, seven days a week. You may access this product remotely or at any of our locations.

Get Homework Help with a Live Tutor

The Library is pleased to offer Brainfuse, a new online tutoring service that matches students with a live tutor for personalized homework help. Just log on to chat one-on-one with a tutor in real time for individual help answering homework questions, building skills in specific subject areas, or writing a better research paper. Tutors (including Spanish-speakers) are available from 2-11 p.m. 7 days a week and help is available for all students, from elementary school through high school and beyond. No appointment is necessary.

The Internet Public Library (IPL)

Available through the AADL Select Sites Libraries heading, the Internet Public Library is always available to quench your midnight AADL cravings. First check out the website’s FAQ to learn about the project’s ten-year history, from its beginnings at the University of Michigan School of Information to its current list of full-time paid staff. Then let your informational cravings take you on an adventure through the IPL’s vast collection of online resources. Just dying to learn more about the 1911 theft of the Mona Lisa? Check out the Art Attack link in the Fine Arts section to unveil a brief history of art theft and forgery. (Bonus: Mona Lisa’s googly eyes roll around in her head as you do so). Stressing over the number of cups in a gallon? Explore the IPL’s Ready Reference collection, which includes an online version of the Information Please Almanac. Sigh with relief upon discovering there are 16, and relax, because this library is always open and ready to help.
