ADC Protest. Five persons protesting the amount of money granted to mothers receiving Aid to Dependent Children funds broke up a closed meeting Thursday between Washtenaw County and state officials. One woman was arrested before Board Chairman Bent F. Nielsen (looking out at right) and Ypsilanti Township Supr. Donald Edmonds (at Nielsen's right) came out into the lobby of the County Building to explain the closed meeting and agree, along with state officials, to meet with the ADC mothers yesterday afternoon. Story on Page 15.

Anti-ADC Protestors: County residents protesting additional allotments to ADC mothers today picketed the County Building where the Board of Supervisors were holding their annual meeting. About 45 persons took part in the demonstration, carrying such signs as "Students Keep Your Noses in Your Books," "ADC Mothers, From Rags to Riches," and "ADC Mothers Stop Free-loading and Start Working." The County Building was the scene of earlier pro-ADC picketing.
