RETURNING A FAVOR - Walter Landry, 80-year-old retired butcher from Dexter Township, is helping sponsor Vietnamese refugees Minh Troung, left, and Quan The Tran, right. Mary Romine, second from left, is local coordinator of the U.S. Catholic Conference which, with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter, brought the two young men to America. Troung and Tran are living at the Landry farm. They split and stacked the pile of wood seen in the foreground.

This group of Huron Valley Roofing Co. employes could have been fishing or working at home this morning but instead they donated their time to re-roof the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Dano, a DP family from Hungary. Shown on the job are Chester Hunt (left), Leonard Motsinger, Everett Muehler, John Klohs and Alvin Walter. Not shown in this picture, and working on the other side of the ridge pole is Burt Rathburn. The tenants of the residence at 506 W. Liberty St. are Margarete and Alexander Dano and their two children.
