PLENTY OF CANS - A total of 159 canned goods and one large pumpkin earned this class the victory for the most goods collected at Huron High School. In an effort to increase donations for the annual Salvation Army Canned Food Drive, the Huron High School Sisters Club, sponsor of the drive, came up with the idea of an all-school competition. The winners, members of Moe Abrahams first hour class, are: front row, from left, Chuck Damm, Nickie Smith, David Pehlke and Matt Schmidt. Back row: Monica Morton, Joyce Hunter, Abrahams, Sam Cox and Nolan Frederick. Huron High alone collected over 10 boxes of food and thousands of canned items were received from throughout the Ann Arbor schools. The goods will be distributed to needy area families, along with checks for perishable items, so that all can have a hearty Christmas meal.
