Ann Arbor News, July 5, 1967
Caption:
After fireworks were over, youngsters this morning began "salvage operations" at Buhr Park. While city workers proceeded with cleanup operations, many children "assisted" by looking for souvenirs and booty left behind by the crowd, estimated at 6,500 persons, which watched the fireworks set off by the "Spirit of '76" club last night. Pictured are (from left) Matt Kerns, 10, of 2416 Medford; Mark Gray, 11, of 3143 Creek; John Rose, 12, of 2956 St. Aubin, and John's brother David, 10. They didn't say what they found.
