This metal automobile model, which has an over-all length of 17 inches and a width of five and one-half inches, is the latest accomplishment of Robert Linebaugh, a 9-A grade student in Slauson Junior High School, who has been making models of automobiles and airplanes about three years. Robert, who is 15 years old, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Linebaugh of 604 Fountain St.

Canadian Model Plane Champion: Erwin Wallaker, 17, displays a model plane of the type he flew Saturday in the Canadian National Championship contest in Toronto. The local youth won first place in the senior division of the Class B event. His winning model, which was not recovered, flew 16 minutes and 45 seconds before disappearing from sight completely.

Nineteen-year-old Erwin (Duke) Wallaker applies finishing touches to one of the high-speed, super-streamlined model planes he will fly in Sunday's contest, sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, at the Municipal Golf Course. Ranged around him in his basement workshop at 1629 Traver Rd. are other models, spare parts and tools, and a few of the trophies he's won in previous competition. He estimates his hobby has cost him at least $2,000 and about 30 hours of work a week.
