Kenneth Marantette, popular social studies teacher and skipper of the Ann Arbor Sea Scouts, will leave next Wednesday for two months of special training at Princeton, N. J., newly-opened U. S. naval training school. He has been commissioned as a lieutenant, senior grade, in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

BEFORE THE FRESH WINDS: The Sea Scout Ship "Trade Wind" made its first trial run of the season yesterday at Portage lake with Bos'n's Mate Ronell White, Ordinary Seaman Fred Cowan and Skipper K. C. Marantette putting her through her paces. The "Trade Wind" is a Grand Banks dory purchased at a Boston fish pier. This boat is similar to the one used in the picture "Captains Courageous."
