U-M Apartments Going Up on North Campus: Pictured is a portion of about 400 townhouse-type apartment units the University is constructing on its North Campus between the present Northwood Apartments and the Park, Davis and Co. Laboratory on Plymouth Rd. Designed for married students and younger faculty members, the units will contain 40 one-bedroom, 205 two-bedroom, and 155 three-bedroom apartments, according to John G. McKevitt, assistant to the U-M vice president for business and finance. Total cost of the project has been set at $6,400,000. Most of the units are scheduled for completion by fall.

1947 Building Coming Down: Cambridge Hall (foreground), a University Terrace Apartment building, and a portion of the apartment building next to it will be town down next month in connection with the rerouting of E. Hospital Dr. and the straightening of Terrace Dr. The buildings are scheduled to be vacated by occupants by June 15. The road work is in preparation for construction of a new 1,045-car parking structure costing $1,900,000 and other facilities at the U-M Medical Center. Terrace buildings were put up in 1947 for married students and faculty members.
