The cornerstone of the new $133,000 West Side Methodist Church at 900 S. Seventh St. was put in place with formal ceremonies this week and work is continuing toward completion of the church by Easter. Rev. E. C. Stringer (extreme left), former pastor, and Rev. Frank L. Fitch, district superintendent of the Methodist Church, look on as Rev. Edwin J. Weiss, pastor, applies the mortar and contractor Walter Kurtz holds the chain. Seventeen historical documents were placed inside the stone.
