Fairgrounds From Air: The Washtenaw County Fair Society has offered to sell the Fairgrounds, shown in this aerial view, to the city of Ann Arbor for $127,500. Some 40 acres of the property would be usable for the recreational and athletic plant long dreamed of by city and school officials. Plans now in the discussion stage include construction of an outdoor municipal swimming pool, a football stadium, baseball fields and other creational facilities. The Ann Arbor Fire Commission has tentatively suggested the southwest corner of the property (indicated by the "X" [not pictured here]) as the site for a new fire station. The Fairgrounds is bordered by Jackson Ave. on the south (running along right edge of picture), Dexter Rd. on the north (just above racetrack), Maple Rd. on the west (across center of picture), and an alley on the east (to the right of the top edge of racetrack and just beyond row of large Fairgrounds buildings).
