Irish Harriers. The St. Thomas cross country team put the cap on a fine season Tuesday, when they finished eighth in the gruelling Catholic League championship meet. They had qualified for the meet earlier by winning the Southwest Division title. Pictured (standing, from left) are coach Dave Peelle, and team members Bill Gunnis, Kevin O'Mara, John McCarty, Mike Gallagher, Richard Darga, Kevin McMahon and Jim Dayton. In the front row (from left) are Tom Marshall, Pat Chase, Steve Royce, Steve Darga, John Carr and Dan Hardie. The Irish squad was undefeated in dual meets.

CASH CUSTOMERS: Braving spring's snow for the privilege of being the first persons to "buy" John K. Kennedy half-dollars at the National Bank and Trust Co. this morning were (left to right) Pat Chase, John Green and brothers Fred, bobby and DeWitt Curtiss. The Curtiss brothers were in line at 8 a.m. Their companions joined the queue at 9 a.m. By 10:30 a.m. today, the bank had distributed all but a handful of its $2,500-worth of the 50-cent pieces. Below is a close-up of $2.50.
