Faith and begorra, the blue, black and white habits DO show touches of green. In the belief that we could find SOME Irish not sporting the traditional St. Patrick's Day green, we sent a photographer to prove the point at St. Thomas School where nuns of Irish descent were asked to pose. But several appeared proudly displaying the green, gifts of their students. Among family names (but not in order above) are O'Toole, O'Hara, Dunne, Rourke, M'Inerney, Heavern, Sullivan, Hungerford and Griffing. They are now known as (seated, from left) Sisters Marie Celine and Augustine Theotilde; and (standing, from left) Sisters Marie Lawrence, Marie Justine, Florentia, Marie Sara, Howardine, and Marie Evelyn.
