Beam Lowered: The 77-foot long, five ton center beam for the new Free Methodist Church being constructed at 1951 Newport Rd. is being lowered into place. Because of strong winds this week, it took workmen several hours to get the beam into place, but the task was successfully accomplished.

Tree on a trip: A helicopter transports a 500-pound flowering crab tree to the top of the new Maynard House. Similar trips were made Saturday afternoon with three other trees, all too large to be taken by elevator to an 11th floor sun terrace and patios outside two penthouses of the residential apartment hotel. The trees were picked up by the helicopter from the top deck of the Maynard St. carport.
