Fire "Graveyard": In observance of the current Fire Prevention Week members of the Ann Arbor Fire Department have erected a symbolic "graveyard" at the new west side station on Jackson Ave. Chief Ernest Heller (left) stands between two "tombstones" which tell of foolish practices which annually injure and kill thousands of persons. Lt. George F. Hastings (center), commander of the west side station, and Fire Marshal John R. Williams stand near a cross listing the estimated annual fire loss within the Ann Arbor city limits.

Firemen Become TV Stars: Ann Arbor Fire Chief Ernest Heller (back to camera) is shown here being interviewed by Mrs. Mary Ann Stevenson, host of the University's " Through Children's Eyes" television series, as part of the filming yesterday of a series show on fire prevention and safety. The show will be seen in this area next month on Channel 7, (WXYZ-TV, Detroit), and on other Michigan television channels. Program dates have not been set. Filming of the show in front of the U-M Television Center at 310 Maynard St., drew a large number of spectators. Taking part, in addition to Heller, were Lt. Laurel Bauer, and Firemen Richard Hansen, Dean Kapp and Harry Weible. The department's aerial ladder truck was used.
