Ludwig Van Beethoven's 203rd birthday is more than a date in musical history for Huron High's music appreciation class. The class and their teacher Lew Wallace, left, ate a cake in honor of the composer on his birthday Monday. Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany.

The class in the background has 49 students enrolled but, as Gallup says, "There are going to be some changed made." Barbara Alpern, a 10th grader, pictured below, is one of the lucky students to have a locker even if it only is about 10 inches wide. An estimated 2,400 students will be enrolled at Huron this year. The $12.4 million school building, which was completed in 1969, was built for 1,800 students.
