A Farewell to Miss Jungquist Miss Hazel Jungquist, retiring principal of Angell School, shows two of her students the pen-and-ink drawing presented to her yesterday at a reception sponsored by the Angell Parent-Teacher Association. The students are Ann Gilbert (left) and Beverly Morris. The drawing, done by local artist Milton Kemnitz, shows Eberbaugh, Jones and Perry schools in the upper half, Angell in the lower half. Miss Jungquist taught at the other three schools before coming to Angell in 1957. More than 300 persons attended the reception.

PRINCIPAL FETED: Retiring Angell School Principal Dorothy Buckley (right) receives a lei of carnations from former teacher Mrs. Janet Hirota during a reception in her honor yesterday. The string of hundreds of carnations and another of orchids were flown in from Hawaii for the occasion which drew a steady stream of well-wishers for three hours at the Ann Arbor High School. Miss Buckley also was given a $1,500 check representing contributions of parents, associates, former pupils and friends.

Louise 'Ma' Bass, 70, retired from East Middle School in 1985. Now, pupils go to her west side home to partake of her knowledge. And reading and math aren't the only subjects. 'We get around to talking about such things as how long to stay on the telephone without riling your parents, disagreements with mom or dad, boy-girl relationships,' Bass says.
