"Holding the blue flag which designates Slauson Junior High School as an official demonstration center for physical fitness programs are (from left) Dean G. Bodley, chairman of the Slauson physical education department; Edwin G. Rice of the State Department of Education, and Slauson Principal Roland J. Lehker. The flag and a certificate of recognition were presented to school officials Tuesday. Slauson is the first school in Michigan to be named a Demonstration center."
