NEW HOME FOR BETH ISRAEL: The former Adams residence at 1429 Hill St. is the new synagogue of the congregation Beth Israel. Members plan to hold the first services in the new building Friday. Future plans of the congregation call for the razing of the present structure and erection of a synagogue on the Hill St. site.

Rabbi Herschel Lymon, formerly assistant rabbi at Temple Beth El in Detroit, has been appointed head of the Hillel Foundation at the University to succeed Rabbi Jehudah M. Cohen, who is now engaged as a regional Hillel director on the West coast. Rabbi Lymon was appointed by Dr. A. L. Sachar, national director of the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation.
