BASKETS FOR NEEDY: The Thrift Shop Association of Ann Arbor is making its rounds this week distributing baskets of food and toys to the area's needy families in time for Christmas. Mrs. Paul Bagrow and Mrs. Donald Hellman (left to right) help pack the many baskets at a local grocery. In addition to the many baskets, the Association also presents several families with checks. This year, Mrs. Noble J. Shawn of Nordman Rd., made fully-dressed dolls, monkeys and doll quilts for Ann Arbor's needy children for distribution through several service organizations, including the Thrift Shop. Many of these hand-made toys will be distributed along with the baskets. Organizations which the Thrift Shop Association aids include the Washtenaw County Bureau of Social Welfare, United Fund, Michigan Children's Aid Society, Family Service, Perry Nursery School, Washtenaw County Health Department and an emergency fund for all Ann Arbor schools.
