NEW VIEW: -- It was a typically idyllic autumn day: Late-afternoon sun slanting through the trees, crisp fallen leaves underfoot, students loafing on the lawn and a high school student upside down in midair. The student, Lance Johnson of Pioneer High, was on the U-M campus with some friends who asked him to do a few flips, so he obliged, proving once agin the U-M campus scene is its own entertainment.

OLD-FASHIONED CHRISTMAS - Elizabeth Hall, a member of the Allen School Girl Scout Troop 579, decorates a tree at Cobblestone Farm with handmade ornaments. The Cobblestone Farm, at 2781 Packard Road in Buhr Park, will present its fourth annual country Christmas Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. The 1844 farm will be decorated in the early Victorian style, including live music, antique toys and toy trains. There is an admission fee.
