Mrs. Leo Borders, widow of a deputy who was killed Aug. 3 while chasing a speeding car near Portage Lake, gets a chance to become acquainted with her new-born daughter, Dawn Renee, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Dawn was born Thursday. Mrs. Borders and Dawn, and another small daughter, Sara, make their home in Chelsea.

NEW LUTHERAN SCHOOL: Construction on this four-classroom school by St. Paul's Lutheran Church Missouri Synod will begin about March 1. The firm of Colvin, Robinson, Wright & Associates was engaged to design the school which will be built on a 10-acre site on the Concordia Lutheran Junior College land. Cost of the school, which is expected to be ready for classes next fall, will be about $190,000. The unit will house a kindergarten and grades one through four.
