Research Park's First Unit: Robert W. Muzzy, Federal-Mogul Division general manager (wielding shovel), turned the first spadeful of earth today, signifying the start of construction of the division's new, $460,00 office-laboratory building in Ann Arbor's Research Park. Federal-Mogul is the first concern to build in the 210-acre Research Park at S. State and Ellsworth Rds. The building is expected to be completed by July.

George Romney will preside over a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow, marking this latest development in the 210-acre park for industrial research units.

Romney called local research the "most meaningful type of activity in the state" during a five-minute talk at a groundbreaking ceremony in the park. It signaled immediate start of work.
