Fritz Crisler Lends A Hand The snow in Michigan Stadium drifted to a foot or two deep in some places and Michigan Athletic Director Fritz Crisler became a member of the clean-up crew, manning this hand-operated, motorized plow which picks up the snow and shoots it out the side.

Getting Ready For Saturday's Game A tractor with a large snowbrush helps get the tarpaulin clear at Michigan Stadium while workmen perform clean0up jobs with brooms and shovels. Wednesday's wet and heavy snow created special problems in getting the 101,001-seat capacity stadium ready for Saturday's Big Ten game between Michigan and Illinois. An estimated 65,000 fans are expected to watch the contest. The Wolverines hold a 34-17 margin in the series, which has never had a tie game.

LATE ARRIVALS: Football fans were still pouring into the Michigan Stadium when this airview was taken of the north end of the stadium Saturday, although the huge bowl looks to be full. Thousands of fans were not in their seats when the game began and missed one or both of the Wolverines' touchdowns in the first quarter.
