ROLLS A SEVEN: Mayor Bill Brown rolled a seven Saturday night, but he didn't pick up the lettuce. His Honor was officially opening the eighth annual men's city bowling tournament at the 20th Century Recreation. A capable kegler himself, the mayor appeared slightly nervous as he approached the foul line and sent the ball spinning down the alley to upset seven of the 10 pins. Twenty-four teams competed on the opening night of the competition.

March of Dimes Winners: Four bowlers, two from Livingston and two from Washtenaw, won prizes in the finals of the March of Dimes bowling tournament rolled off at the Temple alleys in Ypsilanti yesterday. From left to right, the prize winners are James Murray of Brighton and Shirley Kaiser of Pinckney, both from Livingston county and Charles A. Smith of Gregory and Barbara C. Chapman of Ypsilanti representing Washtenaw. Mrs. Carl Johnson (right) of the March of Dimes committee is making the presentations. The four winners qualified for the National March of Dimes tourney.

They lead Kalamazoo Loy Norrix by one point, 20-19, with the semis and final round today. Members of the Huron team are: (kneeling, left to right) Gordon Kamisar, Jay Alcock, John Lazar, Tom Kumasaka, Greg Pon; (standing) Coach Gordon Boettcher, Dick Anthony, George Shepherd, John Kamiar, Will Carrington and John Turcotte.
