Target Date: February: Floors are now being filled in at the $2.2 million addition to the U-M Institute for Social Research. Completion of the work, expected next February, will extend the structure to S. Division, which runs across the bottom of this view. Thompson St., on which ISR's main structure faces, parallels Division at the photo's top. The Student Activities Building, now devoted largely to U-M administrative offices, is visible at upper right. E. Jefferson runs down the photo's right side.

ISR Addition: The new $2,298,049 addition to the U-M Institute for Social Research building (next to houses at lower right) provides needed space for a growing volume of social problem studies. Facing onto S. Division Street at bottom of photograph, it is attached to the institute's original building (upper left) which faces on Thompson Street. The institute's surveys are research on political events, economic conditions, sociological problems, and psychological matters are widely used by governments and industry, and highly respected worldwide.
