The award was presented for the most attractive uniform and for the group's activity program. Deputy Robert C. Britton (center) is director of the chapter, while Richard Simon (second from right) represents the local Junior Chamber of Commerce which sponsors the chapter for teenage boys.

It was a dry, hot day for the practice runs on the North Campus street that will be the derby course on July 14. Lloyd E. Fairbanks, derby director, stands next to Tim's car at the starting block. Tim's father, Richard C. Towner is at the right. Junior Chamber of Commerce President Richard Simon is at the left. The Jaycees and Jim White, Inc., are co-sponsors of the derby.
