In the lower picture Al Grammatico, Ann Arbor bantamweight, is shown having his hand taped by Harry Schmid, who capably looks after such details. Grammatico won his opening bout, gaining a decision over Fred Martel of Chelsea. More than 20 bouts will be held at the Armory tonight in the second round of the eliminations.

AMATEUR BOXERS RARELY CLINCH: Shown above is some of the spirited action which took place at the Armory last night in one of 23 bouts in the Golden Glove amateur tournament. Don Hauser, Ann Arbor boy at the left, is showing unusual technique for a novice. he is warding off a blow aimed at his head with his right hand and is planting a straight left into the body of Claude Ressler, his opponent also of Ann Arbor. Hauser won this bout with a knockout in the second round. The novice and open fighters will continue their eliminations at the Armory tonight, starting at 8 o'clock.
