ROLLS A SEVEN: Mayor Bill Brown rolled a seven Saturday night, but he didn't pick up the lettuce. His Honor was officially opening the eighth annual men's city bowling tournament at the 20th Century Recreation. A capable kegler himself, the mayor appeared slightly nervous as he approached the foul line and sent the ball spinning down the alley to upset seven of the 10 pins. Twenty-four teams competed on the opening night of the competition.

His name was the lucky one drawn from the bowl at the third annual Captain-Sponsor bowling tournament Saturday night at the American Legion Memorial Home. At the left is his captain, Ralph Perkins, holding the big Ann Arbor News trophy on which Bandrofchak's name will be inscribed as well as a small one which goes to Perkins for being the winning captain.
