Leslie Bird Tests Out Ann Arbor's New Street Sweeper, March 1949 Photographer: Eck Stanger
Year:
1949
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, March 18, 1949
Caption:
NEW SWEEPER GETS A WORKOUT: Leslie G. Bird is shown putting the city's new street sweeper through an experimental run. The new vehicle gives the city three sweepers, but one of the old models has been in operation for 12 years and is nearing its retirement. The new model is not radically different from the other two but it is vastly streamlined in contrast to earlier types that Bird has used in his approximately 30 years with the public works department.

Python Found Sleeping Under The Hood Of A Car, August 1983 Photographer: David Dworkin
Year:
1983
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, August 4, 1983
Caption:
CHECK THE PYTHON PLEASE - Monty Python, the British comedy team, may be hysterically funny, but finding a nine-foot Burmese python under the hood of his car was more in the nature of a hysterical experience for 25-year-old Terry Jackson of Miner Street Wednesday afternoon. Jackson discovered the sleeping reptile when he went to change the oil in his father's car.
