Whether it was the Irish stubbornness or sense of humor, we'll never know, but Wee Colleen, an Irish mare belonging to Mr. and Mrs. James R. Alder Jr. of Stoney Ridge Farm riding stables, waited until St. Patrick's Day to foal her little dark filly - a month past the foal's due date. The grey mare (who really isn't very old) hails straight from Dublin, was shipped over here by a local hunting enthusiast, and was eventually purchased by the Alders. Sure 'n' it's a sign o' good luck for her owners, who just recently moved into their new stables at 9970 W. Liberty Rd.
