Where Theme Park Would Go: This aerial view of Whittaker Road, center of picture, and I-94, upper right, shows the farmland site for the proposed $40-million "Space World" amusement park in Ypsilanti Township. The first phase of the park, which could be completed in 1980, will be located on the west side of Whittaker Road, shown in the upper center of the picture where the barn and silo are now visible. Later phases, to be finished over a 10-year period could be built on the land shown in the lower portion of the picture. The photograph, taken by News Chief Photographer Cecil Lockard, is facing west across Whittaker Road.

Ready For Dedication A dedication service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday for the addition, shown above, to Lincoln Community United Methodist Church on Whittaker Road. The addition was planned after the merger two years ago of Lincoln Community and Seybert EUB churches. The new building contains a worship area seating 250 persons and offices. Speaker at the dedication service will be the Rev. Grant Wessel, Flint. The service will be led by the Rev. Garfield Kellerman, East District Conference superintendent, The Rev. J. E. Cherryholmes of Lansing, who preceded the Rev. Bernard Hearl, present pastor, will also take part. An open house and tea will follow the dedication service.

The former St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Augusta Township, built in 1890, is held up by the passing of a train before continuing its journey down Whittaker Road to Milan. When the movers realized they were not going to get the church across the tracks before the train came, they backed it up and waited.
