SIGHTSEEING FOR CHILDREN: Wondering where to take the youngsters for sightseeing and fun this summer? One idea, listed in the Ann Arbor Nursery's guidebook, "Things To Do and See in the Ann Arbor Area," is this small zoo behind one of the University Museums. Waiting for the bear to make his appearance are (left to right) Mrs. Ralph Loomis, Margaret Loomis, Laurie McNeil, Mrs. Elton McNeil, Robert Loomis and David Loomis.

DESTINED FOR NEW HOME: Maze(y), the distaff member of the bear household in the little zoo back of the University Museum Building comes out of her den for a look at those who are trying to disrupt her happy home. Blue, her more gentle male companion who is fatter and a tight fit for the den door, showed less curiosity and a greater reluctance to squeeze through the narrow opening despite the offer of raisins and other goodies. It was not certain this morning when a second attempt would be made to remove the six-year-old bruins.

BEARS HATE TO LEAVE: Aubrey L. Hart (left) of the University Museums staff, and Joseph Broad, a U-M student, are shown here using poles in an unsuccessful attempt yesterday to prod the two bears in the museum's zoo into a crate for transport to their new home in Athens, Mich. The small boy looking on apparently is as unhappy to see the bears, Maze(y) and Blue, leave as they are to go. Removal of the city's only zoo and its animals is necessary to make way for construction of a $1,000,000 addition to the museum. The zoo's animals have created nationwide interest.
