VOLUNTEER FIREMEN SAVE HOUSE: When the homes of Ellet Walker and Walter Kranich, on Fulmer St. in Garden Homes Subdivision, burned to the ground yesterday, neighbors with garden hoses kept streams of water on the home of Carl Coughlin next door and were able to save it. New asbestos shingles on the roof and sides of the Coughlin home were important factors in the fight. The above photograph, looking across the ruins of the Walker and Kranich homes, shows how the Coughlin house was saved.
