DIVING HELMET WHICH FIGURED IN TRAGEDY: Shown above is the home-made helmet worn by William E. Blakeman, 16, when he walked to his death in Whitmore lake yesterday afternoon. Made of a steel bucket, with a glass panel for vision and a heavy rim, the device weighed about 25 pounds. Air was supplied by a hose leading to the top, supplied by air compressors in a boat near the shore. Air pressure kept water from entering at the bottom according to the owner, William Stevens, 17, Whitmore lake.
