Description

The International Transgender Day of Visibility is March 31st! In preparation, we will be assembling small works of art and writing into a collage about what it means to be transgender and out in 2020. Transgender/non-binary people, as well as their friends, family, or allies, are welcome to contribute pieces celebrating trans people and their accomplishments, or about the importance of visibility and representation.

Make your art or writing at this event with library provided materials, or bring something in that you have prepared in advance. Pieces selected by library staff will contribute to a collage displayed at the Downtown Library March 30-31.

Submissions will also be compiled into a zine made available to the public at the International Transgender Day of Visibility event on March 31st. The zine will be produced in 1 color, like tones may blend together (keep this in mind for rainbows, for example).

Submission Guidelines for Art or Written Work:

  • Size: 8.5" x 5.5"
  • Both color and black/white accepted (zine will be produced in 1 color)
  • Digital artwork at 600dpi preferred
  • Online submissions can be emailed to: tdov@aadl.org
  • Submissions accepted March 1 - 10, 2020
