What is Tiny Expo? Tiny Expo is a juried indie holiday craft fair that happens annually in December. The show features around 45 artists and crafters selling their wares in a festive library space where you can shop local and buy handmade! It's a great way to support your community and find unique gifts.
Where is it held? It is held in the lobby of the downtown location of the Ann Arbor District Library at 343 S. Fifth Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan. **The Library will be in compliance with whatever regulations or public health direction exists at the time of Tiny Expo.
When is it held? It's held annually in December.
Who organizes it? A select team of AADL staff.
What types of vendors are accepted? We accept vendors that fit the spirit of an indie craft fair. We look for unique handmade goods in a variety of categories, made by local artists. We do not accept any mass market produced products, food vendors (no jams, salsas, cupcakes, etc.), or resellers of vintage goods. Also worth noting: Our show is tiny, but your handmade goods don't have to be.
When and how do I apply? There is an application process for potential vendors. The online application opens up in early September. After the deadline, applications are reviewed by a jury, and vendors are notified of their status (acceptance, rejection, or waitlist) in mid-October.
How many vendors do you accept? Our venue space is limited and we accept around 45 vendors each year.
Do you have tips for creating a great application? Photos! Include a link that has the best images of work you actually plan to sell at Tiny Expo! Make sure the photos are in focus, show the work well, perhaps with a plain background. The jury doesn't hunt around for your images, so including a working link with high quality photos of your work is the best way to let us know what you make! We also take item categories and price points into consideration. Having a focused body of work is a plus. Pick your strongest category of art and apply with that.
What else happens at the library during Tiny Expo? The library is open regular hours during Tiny Expo! And we will have special hands-on craft activities for all ages happening in the Secret Lab for a few hours during Tiny Expo.
How can I follow what Tiny Expo is up to? Joining our mailing list is the best way to be informed of when the show is and when vendor applications open up. You can also find us on Facebook announcing show-related news and other crafty bits.
