PROCLAMATION
UNIVERSITY MUSICAL SOCIETY FOUNDERS WEEK February 1824, 1979
WHEREAS, the University Musical Society has regularly offered to Ann Arbor concertgoers a wide variety of top quality concerts; and,
WHEREAS, its constitution was adopted one hundred years ago on February 24tb; and,
WHEREAS, in celebration of their centennial year, the Musical Society is conducting an extensive fundraising drive to keep great artists coming to Ann Arbor for a second hundred years; and,
WHEREAS, on February 24th, the Musical Society will bold a Founders Day Concert featuring choral music performed by the Festival Chorus.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Louis D. Belcher, Mayor of the Chy of Ann Arbor, hereby proclaim February 1824, 1979, as UNIVERSITY MUSICAL SOCIETY FOUNDERS WEEK in the City of Ann Arbor, and I urge all citizens to honor the Society with their highest esteem and appreciation.
