Description
Varta is a cultural and literary festival for students and families. The event is a creative space for everyone interested in learning about South-Asian storytelling and culture.
Join us for a day of reading, storytelling, music, and fun. The day's activities include:
- Carnatic music performance
- the first release of Bento Children's Magazine
- coloring and postcard making
- storytime
- book signings
- an exhibit about oral storytelling
- a presentation about creating emotions in dance and oral storytelling
- Dastangoi Performance
- Likhawat: Author Panel

This event is in partnership with Peerbagh, the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission, and the South-Asian Institute of the University of Michigan.
